Friday, September 20, 2024, as part of the celebration of the 266th anniversary of the birth of Jean-Jacques Dessalines, the Place d'Armes of Cap-Haïtien vibrated to the rhythm of art and heritage.

Indeed, to mark this special day dedicated to Dessalines, the Organization for the Management of the Destination North of Haiti, in concert with the Ministry of Tourism, organized, in the morning, a large sculpture competition in Tribute, to the father of the first black republic, but also to all our ancestors, all those who fought for a free country without injustice.

Following a democratic draw, the artists chose the Hero to sculpt with one of the accepted Sculpture techniques (Wood, Fiberglass, Clay, Recycled Plastic, or Metal)

This day was a true celebration of our identity, our history, our talents and our culture, which will remain engraved in the hearts of all those who had the chance to participate.
