The United Nations Development Program (UNDP Haiti), the Ministry of Environment and Heifer International Haiti, organized the first meeting of the Steering Committee of the "Biodiversity South" project.

Funded by the "Global Environment Facility", this project aims to restore 500 hectares of agricultural land, 1,750 hectares of forest and 1,750 hectares of watersheds, for the benefit of 321,832 people in the South of Haiti.

In addition, a delegation composed of Engineer Astrel Joseph, Director General of the Ministry of the Environment of Haiti, and Sylvain Merlin, Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP - Haiti, accompanied by teams from the Ministry of the Environment, UNDP, Heifer Haiti, the Organization for the Rehabilitation of the Environment (ORE) and the Botanical Garden of Les Cayes, took the opportunity to meet with project beneficiaries and visit nurseries and agricultural plots set up by the project.
