iciHaiti - Diplomacy : Kenya to open a Consulate in Port-au-Prince
Friday, December 20, 2024, following the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kenya and Haiti in September 2023 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-40549-haiti-politic-haiti-and-kenya-establish-diplomatic-relations.html , Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs Musalia Mudavadi announced that Kenya will open a Consulate in 2025 in Port-au-Prince.

In addition to providing services to its citizens and travel and other information for Haitians, the consulate will also be responsible for promoting trade and investment, by providing information on opportunities between Kenya and Haiti.

Deputy Inspector General of the Administrative Police Service Noor Gabow, a highly respected officer with 30 years of experience, has been appointed Consul General in Haiti.

The announcement, made on Friday, December 20, 2024, during a series of high-level appointments to senior positions in the executive cabinet of Kenyan President William Ruto and other key state agencies.

Gabow’s appointment to Haiti is seen as strategic, given Kenya’s leadership in the ongoing security mission in Haiti. The move underscores Kenya’s commitment and intention to strengthen diplomatic ties with Haiti.
