iciHaiti - Diaspora : The Embassy of Haiti in Canada thanks the talented painter Pascal Smarth
"The Embassy of Haiti in Canada would like to thank the talented painter Pascal Smarth of Haitian origin, one of whose works (1) was used this year to illustrate our Christmas and New Year greeting card.

Pascal Smarth is a Canadian artist, born in 1966 in Cavaillon, South of Haiti. Introduced to painting at a very young age by his father, he became an accomplished professional in 1991 after studying at the National School of Arts in Port-au-Prince.

Pascal practices the abstract style in his painting. He says he wants, through "the power of color and the dynamism of forms" to bear witness to what he has learned, what he has experienced and felt.

The chosen work (composition 5) is part of his collection "Echo of Silence". This collection, started in 2019, reflects encounters with bearers of light, sowers of hope and love.
