The Embassy of Haiti in France learned with great sadness of the death of former Ambassador Marc A. Trouillot, who passed away in Paris on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the age of 96.

Born on March 2nd, 1928 in Port-au-Prince, Mr. Trouillot had a brilliant professional career first in Haiti, then in Africa, notably as a professor of agronomy at the Gabon School of Agriculture.

Senior Administrator at UNESCO in the 1960s, this great servant of the State had held high positions in Haitian diplomacy.

He was Ambassador of Haiti to France (1995 to 2002), Ambassador of Haiti to Switzerland (1996-2002) and Ambassador of Haiti to the Vatican (1996-2002).

Ambassador Trouillot is remembered as a passionate defender of his country's interests and an open and warm man.

The Embassy of Haiti in France presents its most sincere condolences to his family, his loved ones and to all those affected by his departure.
