As part of the police cooperation between the two Nations of the island, the Dominican authorities handed over to the Ouanaminthe border post, in the hands of Commissioner Beauvoir Jean Frenel of the Haitian National Police (PNH), Gourin Enel, an alleged Leader of one of the criminal gangs in Haiti.

The operation that led to the capture of Gourin Enel was carried out near Las Américas International Airport, in Santo Domingo, where agents of the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) and members of the Dominican army proceeded to his arrest

According to Enel's statements, he had been residing illegally in the Dominican capital for some time.
