iciHaiti - Diaspora : 16th Annual NHAEON Summit
Transition Council Advisor Smith Augustin was in Miami to participate as a guest of honor and speaker at the 16th Annual Leadership Summit of the National Haitian American Elected Officials Network (NHAEON). Held from January 24 to Sunday, January 26, 2025, the theme was Hope to Action : Amplifying Haitian American Voices.

Advisor Smith Augustin spoke at the organization’s Past Presidents’ Luncheon on Saturday, on the theme of "The Role of the Haitian-American Diaspora in Governance, Economic Development, and Civic Engagement in Haiti."

Kathia Verdier, Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, present at this Summit expressed her deep gratitude to the Haitian diaspora, an unwavering force and driving force of Haiti’s development, emphasizing "This Summit is a precious opportunity to celebrate our achievements, but above all to strengthen our ties and work together towards a prosperous and inclusive future for our beloved Nation."
