On Thursday, February 13, 2025, Kathia Verdier, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) met with Guillaume Cheng-Hao Hu, Ambassador of Taiwan (Republic of China) to Haiti, to discuss opportunities for collaboration in human resources training and technological support.

The following topics were discussed :

- Capacity building for Ministry staff through specialized training in digital administration and modern database management;

- Digitization and modernization of MHAVE services to facilitate access to administrative procedures for Haitians in the diapsora;

- Deployment of a reliable technological infrastructure to create a direct and secure link between the diaspora and the Ministry;

- Support in equipment and technological solutions for the computerization and improvement of the Ministry's liaison services.

Ambassador Cheng-Hao Hu expressed Taiwan’s strong desire to support the MHAVE in this modernization, emphasizing that technology and innovation are essential levers to strengthen the connection between Haiti and its diaspora.

This meeting marks a major step forward towards a more modern, connected and accessible Ministry for all our compatriots in the diaspora.
