The Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) in support of the Ministry of Public Health delivered on February 20, 2025 more than 7.5 tons of medicines, vaccines and medical supplies, marking the return of the first humanitarian flight to Port-au-Prince since the closure of its airport in November 2024 for security reasons…

Essential medicines will be allocated to the emergency room of the University Hospital of Peace (UHP) for the management of critical care. As for vaccines (rotavirus, pneumococcus, oral polio, rabies), they will be distributed in health institutions to strengthen routine vaccination.

This delivery was made possible thanks to the logistical support of the World Food Programme (WFP - Haiti) and the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD - Panama) and the financial support of the European Humanitarian Programme ECHO, UNCERF, Gavi, "The Vaccine Alliance" and the Federal Government of Brazil.
