iciHaiti - Politic : MCFDF and UNFPA discuss an Annual Work Plan
Pedrica Saint Jean, Minister for Women's Affairs and Women's Rights, had a working session this week with Samir Anouti, Resident Representative of the United Nations Agency for Sexual and Reproductive Health (UNFPA) in Haiti.

The purpose of this working session was to present the Annual Work Plan (PTA) between the Ministry for Women's Affairs and UNFPA, with a view to signing a Memorandum of Understanding in the coming days.

To this end, Anouti said he hoped that the Ministry and UNFPA would co-lead the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) group, with particular emphasis on solidarity between the two institutions to achieve this goal. Consequently, UNFPA promises to take steps to seek funds for the care of victims of violence. He also hopes for the implementation of this PTA as soon as possible in order to motivate donors and mobilize funds for next year's work plan.

According to Samir Anouti, discussions in favor of setting up a large-scale program, similar to the Spotlight Program, are underway.

In summary, both parties intend to implement targeted initiatives to address the issue of gender violence in IDP sites, with an emphasis on strengthening the capacities of women's organizations.
