iciHaiti - March 8 : Vibrant tribute from Secretary of State Génard Joseph to disabled women
Saturday, March 8, 2025, as part of International Women's Rights Day, the Secretary of State (Génard Joseph) for the Integration of People with Disabilities (BSEIPH), paid a vibrant tribute to all women and particularly to women with disabilities.

For Secretary of State Joseph, "this celebration is an expression of recognition of the exploits of activists fighting for respect and protection of women's rights" (disabled or not).

The BSEIPH expresses its "strong solidarity with all Haitian women and particularly women with disabilities" whose resilience in the face of multiple challenges requires the attention of the State, the international community and local actors in Haiti.

Joseph recalls that this day "is an opportunity to reflect and discuss the living conditions of women with disabilities in Haiti, to mobilize for gender equality and to strengthen the empowerment of women with disabilities in all sectors of national life. [...]

They are today deprived of adequate access to a safe social environment, housing, health care, a balanced diet and a Peace and quality education. As a result, they face increased risks to their own well-being and that of their child(ren).

This is why the BSEIPH, in collaboration with these national and international partners, works tirelessly to help them in order to offer them adapted and inclusive support as well as psychological and humanitarian support.

It is time for solidarity and action ! Let's unite to build a country where every woman, whatever her condition, can live with dignity, with respect, in security and with real opportunities for development. This is a fight that concerns us all.

To all women and in particular to those who live in suffering and uncertainty, we say: you are not forgotten. Your courage is a source of inspiration. Your rights are our fight.

Long live Haitian women !
Long live disabled women !
Long live solidarity !"
