Leslie Théogène indicated that he had held talks with Luma Demetri, the mayor of Ouanaminthe, to expedite the process. "The goal is to ensure that this gate becomes a reality in the coming days," he said.

Emphasizing that this gate will improve control of trade and transit between Haiti and the Dominican Republic and "strengthen security and organization in the border area."
