iciHaiti - Torrential Rains : The Government Strengthens its Emergency Response Mechanism
On Sunday, April 13, 2025, in response to torrential rains caused by a surface trough over Haiti, the government is strengthening its emergency response to assist the most vulnerable populations.

On Sunday afternoon, government teams distributed several hundred tarps to displaced families in the Delmas and Bourdon camps, providing lasting protection against the elements.

This action is part of the urgent measures deployed by the authorities to provide concrete, rapid, and coordinated assistance to people in precarious situations.

Starting this Monday, April 14, the Government will begin a new phase of the humanitarian assistance program. Hot meals will be distributed at several sites in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area to meet the urgent food needs of displaced people.

Prime Minister Fils-Aimé reaffirms his full commitment to supporting disaster victims with dignity, efficiency, and solidarity, and calls on all national and international partners to expand this humanitarian response and support ongoing efforts.
