iciHaiti - Social : The P.M. closes the 14th National Diaspora Day
On Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Karibe Hotel, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé participated in the closing ceremony of the 14th National Diaspora Day, initiated by the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), organized around the theme : "Diaspora and Governance: Effective and Inclusive Participation".

In his speech, the Prime Minister praised the Haitian diaspora's ongoing efforts to support the national economy. He emphasized its essential role in implementing development projects and rebuilding the country.

"Today, more than ever, Haitians living abroad are essential to the recovery of the national economy. The challenges we face require the unity, solidarity, and commitment of all the children of this Nation. Your choice matters, your expertise is valuable, and your support is vital to building a better future."

The Head of Government reaffirmed the State's commitment, in consultation with the Presidential Transitional Council, to strengthening ties with the diaspora. He emphasized the implementation of concrete policies and initiatives to promote its active participation in Haiti's development, particularly through investment, skills transfer, civic engagement, and participation in public affairs.

This event illustrated the Government's desire to position the diaspora as a key player in the national reconstruction process, in an approach based on inclusion, justice, and solidarity. It should be noted that this day also laid the foundations for a sincere, structured, and lasting inter-Haitian dialogue between the State and its diaspora. A dialogue focused on concrete mechanisms for participation in public life, the upcoming general elections, and national governance.
