The Confederation emphasizes the importance of the second round, which will conclude on June 10. This round will determine the 12 teams qualified for the final tournament. These teams will be the top two from each of the six groups. A draw, scheduled for June 12, will determine the composition of the three groups of four teams that will compete in the third and final round. In this third round, each team will participate in six matches (three first legs, three second legs). At the end of this phase, the three group winners will qualify directly for the World Cup, while the two best runners-up will advance to the intercontinental play-offs.
