iciHaiti - Intelligence : Creation of the National Security Agency
At the special meeting of the Council of Ministers on April 30, 2025, it was decided to revise the Decree of December 31, 2020, concerning the National Intelligence Agency (ANI) and to create the National Security Agency (ANS) in its place.

This revision aims to provide the State with a comprehensive view of strategic information relating to national security, social peace, and the protection of the nation's fundamental interests. Currently, this information is dispersed due to the lack of a centralized structure.

To address this problem, it is necessary to organize the intelligence community and structure, supervise, and optimize intelligence efforts at the national level. This requires adopting a coherent and coordinated approach.

Therefore, the Decree of December 31, 2020, was revised to include provisions relating to the National Security Agency (ANS), which will replace the ANI.

The ANS will be a technical organization under the administrative authority of the Prime Minister. Its mission will be to implement the Government's intelligence and counterintelligence policy, as well as to process, centralize, and synthesize strategic information related to national security and the protection of the Nation's fundamental interests.
