Joint Reaction : "In accordance with our formal request addressed to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on January 24, 2025, we acknowledge the United States' decision to designate 'Viv Ansanm' and 'Gran Grif' as international terrorist organizations. Nevertheless, we firmly believe that this much-needed step is still not enough. Indeed, to achieve the desired results in the fight against insecurity in Haiti, this measure must be accompanied by an international plan aimed at effectively eradicating, in the coming months, the criminal groups that are holding our beautiful country hostage, hindering its future and development. We welcome this historic decision, which has largely taken into consideration our correspondence of January 24, 2025, while calling on the international community to honor its commitments to Haiti by supporting the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) and strengthening the operational capabilities of the Haitian Public Force through its two components : the Army and the Police. Since the Haitian people have already suffered too much, it is time to declare a permanent presence in the fight against terrorists through a comprehensive plan whose purpose will not only be to isolate them, but also, and above all, to defeat them. On behalf of the many displaced people, on behalf of the tens of thousands of our Haitian brothers and sisters who were kidnapped, tortured, raped, humiliated, impoverished, and murdered by 'Viv Ansanm' and 'Gran Grif', we once again welcome the United States' decision to hold these organizations accountable for their crimes against humanity.
