![]() iciHaiti - Economy : PM visits flagship of Haiti's essential oils industry 09/05/2025 11:00:06
FRAGER is the world's leading exporter of vetiver, whose essential oil is used in renowned perfumes such as Chanel and "The 7 Virtues" (Canada). In a national context marked by insecurity and the profound crisis affecting the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area, this visit is intended to send a strong message: all is not lost. Beyond the capital, there are women and men, entrepreneurs and investors, who continue to believe in Haiti, to invest there, to create jobs, and to promote our expertise throughout the world. FRAGER, located in the heart of the Les Cayes plain, represents a major economic pillar in itself (60% of Haiti's essential oil). Its activity supports nearly 30,000 rural vetiver farming families in the southern region and supplies a network of around ten distilleries. FRAGER is the leading exporter of vetiver in Haiti, whose essential oil is used in renowned perfumes such as Chanel and "The 7 Virtues" (Canada). Its oil, recognized for its exceptional quality, is exported to Europe, the Americas, India, and China. It is a living symbol of our country's immense potential, even in times of crisis. "Despite the difficulties, Haiti works. Despite the fear, Haiti hopes. My duty, as Prime Minister, is to support these businesses that are driving our economy, to guarantee their security, and to provide them with a stable environment conducive to their development," declared the Head of Government. Fils-Aimé reiterated his clear and firm commitment: "to do everything possible to restore security, organize the referendum and elections, and enable the nation's vital forces to play their full role in rebuilding a viable, just, and prosperous Haiti."
