"May 18, 2025, the Republic of Haiti marks the 222nd anniversary of the National Flag Day. This significant day reflects Haiti’s rich history, culture and values as well as Haiti's obligation to unity and growth as a nation. On this momentous day, the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti joins the Haitian people in commemorating this important day, MSS affirms its commitment and dedication to fulfilling its mandate in restoring law and order in Haiti.

This day also serves as a moment to reflect on the efforts implemented to regain Haiti’s pride and foster peace. Gang activities have led to the loss of lives, destruction of Haiti’s infrastructure and have had adverse effects on various institutions in Haiti. This is saddening, MSS confirms continued collaboration with the Haitian authorities and the Haitian Police in thwarting gang activities, making arrests, and restoring order and normalcy.

Further, This year’s Flag Day is a moment to echo the phrase in the Haitian flag, “L’Union Fait La Force,” translating to “Unity Makes Strength,” as MSS, we appreciate the continuous collaboration that we have with the HNP and all actors of goodwill, your unwavering support toward the strides that have been made so far cannot be underscored indeed it resonates with this year's Flag Day theme, "One Flag, One People, One Nation,
