The Haitian Institute of Oncology (IHDO) and the Haitian Society of Oncology (SHONC) are organizing their annual breast and cervical cancer screening campaign on Saturday, May 24th and Sunday, May 25th, 2025 : consultation and medication (free), Pap test (membership fee 750 Gdes), and mammograms at a reduced price.

The IHDO and SHONC are once again taking this opportunity to raise awareness about the devastating effects of breast and cervical cancer in Haitian women and prostate cancer in men.

• Every woman who is sexually active should have a Pap test every year to prevent or detect cervical cancer early.

• Every woman aged 20 and over should perform a breast self-examination every month, one week after her period.

• Every woman aged 40 or older should have a monthly self-examination, a breast medical checkup, and a mammogram of both breasts (every two years) to detect breast cancer early.

• Every man aged 50 or older should have a PSA (blood test) every year to detect prostate cancer early.
