iciHaiti - Jérémie : Studies for the reconstruction of the Dumarsais Estimé bridge 24/05/2025 09:32:50
This project, financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and implemented by the Executing Agency of the Ministry of Public Works, is part of the Departmental Transport and Connectivity Program. It aims to strengthen regional integration, improve the mobility of people and goods, and revive the local economy, still affected by the August 2021 earthquake. Accompanied by the Departmental Director of Grand'Anse and the Director of the Ministry's Executing Agency, Hosty emphasized the strategic importance of this infrastructure for the region's economic and social development. The Minister stated : "The Dumarsais Estimé Bridge is a vital artery for Jérémie. Its modernization represents an essential step towards greater resilience and improved connectivity for the department." Continuing his visit, the Minister also visited the reconstruction site of the Voldrogue Bridge, which was severely damaged in the earthquake of August 14, 2021. This bridge is currently undergoing major work aimed at restoring the connection between several municipalities in the Grand'Anse Department. IH/ iciHaiti
