During a routine check conducted by the Nippes Police in the locality of Saint-Michel, commune of Miragoâne, Valderama Ystal (22 years old), a native of Les Cayes, and Norman Washington James (22), a native of Saint-Louis du Sud, were arrested on Sunday, May 25, 2025, for drug trafficking.

At the time of their arrest, they were each riding a motorcycle carrying a suitcase containing narcotics.

Agents from the Bureau for the Fight against Drug Trafficking (BLTS), stationed in the South Department, conducted a drug verification, during which an estimated quantity of 43.9 kilos of marijuana was confirmed and seized.

During their interview with BLTS agents, the traffickers admitted that this quantity of marijuana was to be delivered to Petit-Goâve.

Currently, the two traffickers have been taken into custody for necessary legal action.
