In response to reports of alleged abuses against Haitian citizens, including minors, as well as allegations regarding the actions of local authorities, particularly the municipal police, near the border market in Dajabón, Haiti has sent a diplomatic commission of six consular officials to the province of Dajabón.

According to a statement issued by the Haitian consulate, the diplomats will be tasked with strengthening humanitarian assistance, monitoring repatriation processes, and protecting the rights of Haitians residing or transiting through the area. They will also ensure compliance with international migrant protection protocols.

The situation in the city of Dajabón has become increasingly tense. Residents have expressed concern about the large number of Haitian adolescents and minors in the neighborhoods. According to some reports, they access the roofs of houses and private properties and settle in parks to sleep...
