iciHaiti - Social : Towards the humanization of the reception of deportees
Following the government's concerns regarding the mass deportations from the Dominican Republic, Bertrand Sinal, the Minister of Public Health, issued instructions to ensure that arrangements are made to ensure that compatriots are received with dignity, respect for human rights, and in complete safety.

Consequently, the Mental Health Unit, in collaboration with the Northeast Health Directorate and the head of the Ouanaminthe border entry point, with financial support from PAHO/WHO, organized two training sessions in Psychosocial Support and Psychological First Aid (PSF) for Ministry of Health providers, Civil Protection brigades, and members of government organizations and entities responsible for reception in the border region.

Sixty-four members from 15 organizations, divided into two groups, participated in training sessions on Psychosocial Support and PSP, led by members of the Mental Health Unit Coordination, Dr. Yelva François and Psychologist Coordinator René Domersant Jr.

The presence of Dr. Jean C. Dorsainvil, Departmental Health Director for the Northeast, as well as other officials from the Departmental Health Directorate, highlighted the importance of this type of activity.
