iciHaiti - Technology : Strengthening the partnership between CONATEL and UNDP

The National Telecommunications Council (CONATEL) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) held a working meeting this week to strengthen their strategic partnership and coordinate their digital initiatives, while exploring other areas of collaboration.

This meeting is part of Haiti's ongoing digital transformation and identified several priorities for action.

The discussions focused on :

- The finalization of the Digital Readiness Assessment (DRA) report and its upcoming publication, to assess Haiti's "digital maturity";
- The assessment of recent digital initiatives supported by UNDP, such as DevExpo (June 21, 2025), the Haiti AI Summit (June 27, 2025), and HAIFEX (July 5-6, 2025), which strengthen the local technology ecosystem;
- CONATEL's key projects in cybersecurity, combating e-harassment, electronic signatures, and personal data protection;
- Exploring solutions using telecommunications technologies to improve early warning systems in response to natural hazards and other emergencies.
