The U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince issued a clarification note on July 23 regarding the length of stay in the United States for visa holders.

According to this note, if you have a valid U.S. visa, please be aware that the length of your stay in the United States is determined by the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer upon arrival, NOT by the expiration date of your visa.

A U.S. visa only allows you to appear at a U.S. port of entry and request authorization to enter the country.
