iciHaiti - Modernization of the TNH : Taiwan open to cooperation
On Thursday, July 24, 2025, Presidential Transition Advisor Leslie Voltaire, accompanied by Patrick Delatour, Minister of Culture and Communication, and Cheng Hao-Hu, Ambassador of Taiwan (Republic of China) to Haiti, visited the premises of Haitian National Television (TNH).

The main objective was to assess the state of the infrastructure, technical equipment, and working conditions of TNH staff. The aim was also to discuss opportunities for cooperation between Taiwan and Haiti to strengthen the technical capabilities of the national channel, with a view to modernizing and enhancing the public broadcasting service.

At the end of the visit, they met with the TNH Restructuring Commission to further discuss the institution's urgent needs, the prospects for rehabilitation, and the priority actions to be implemented to revitalize the state-owned media.

TNH must no longer be a propaganda tool, but a reliable information channel and a lever for educational emancipation, according to Leslie Voltaire. For his part, Cheng Hao-Hu reiterated his country's commitment to bilateral cooperation. The diplomat promised to mobilize the necessary resources to support this transition to modern and efficient television, a new model for public media in Haiti.
