As part of International Youth Day (IYD 2025), the Ministry of Youth (MJSAC) paid tribute to a dozen young leaders and associations working tirelessly to serve Haitian youth. This ceremony took place at the Karibe Convention Center, on the sidelines of a craft fair bringing together numerous young creators and showcasing the expertise and creativity of national crafts.

Me Nathan Laguerre, Director General of MJSAC, accompanied by several Ministry officials, presented plaques of honor to representatives of the Haitian Youth Observatory (OJH), Gwoup Konbit, the Association of Volunteers for Democracy (AVD), Leaders of Tomorrow, and the Association of World Executives (ACM). Young leaders Andy Vibert, Shneedder Lincifort, Géraldine Pepa, Sonel Joseph, and Stéphanie Sophie Louis were also recognized for their remarkable commitments and actions.

In his speech, Me Laguerre praised the determination and contribution of the winners, considering this award presentation as an act of recognition for their work and their daily commitment to youth. He affirmed that this was only a first step, announcing the Ministry's desire to implement other support and guidance initiatives to strengthen this immense collective effort in the service of Haiti's youth.

In her address, Niola Lynn S. Devalis Octavius, Minister of Youth, Sports, and Civic Action, reaffirmed her commitment to promoting the full participation of young people in national life. She reiterated that the actions carried out by her Ministry are fully aligned with United Nations resolutions promoting peace, social cohesion, and the well-being of future generations.

With these words, Minister Octavius urged Haitian youth to courageously meet the challenges of the present and actively contribute to building a resilient, united, and hopeful Haiti. The Ministry took advantage of this symbolic day to express its gratitude to all the grassroots actors, peacemakers, and development agents who work tirelessly to guide, inspire, and serve Haitian youth. The Minister reiterated her commitment to supporting them in the face of the challenges and issues to be overcome to promote the growth and future of all young people in the country, and called on Haitian youth to courageously meet the challenges of the present and actively contribute to building a resilient, united, and hopeful Haiti.

In an address imbued with strength and conviction, the Minister made a vibrant appeal to Haitian youth "Defend your positions ! Dare to choose... Dare to commit... Forward, young people of my country! History is calling you to action. Rise up ! Act now ! The country needs you today, not tomorrow."
