iciHaiti - Japan : Nearly $3 million for the economic inclusion of people with disabilities
The Office of the Secretary of State (Génard Joseph) for the Integration of People with Disabilities (BSEIPH) organized a training session for its employees and representatives of organizations for people with disabilities.

This initiative marks an important step in preparing for the rollout of the Project for the Productive Inclusion of People with Disabilities (PROPIPED), which aims to provide adults with disabilities with opportunities for sustainable integration into the economy, particularly in the most vulnerable areas.

"We want people with disabilities not to be just spectators, but to be active participants in their own economic future," stated Secretary of State Génard Joseph.

The project plans to support between 1,000 and 1,500 adults with disabilities, half of whom will be women and a third of whom will be young people aged 18 to 35. These beneficiaries will receive support enabling them to develop income-generating activities and achieve productive independence.

With a budget of USD 2.77 million, funded by a grant from the Government of Japan through the Japan Social Development Fund (JSDF) and administered by the World Bank, PROPIPED will operate primarily in the Grande Anse department, with some activities planned in the West.

The official launch of the project is planned shortly in Grande Anse, marking the beginning of a new dynamic for the economic and social inclusion of people with disabilities in Haiti.
