iciHaiti - Diaspora : Criminal record extract, towards faster service

On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, J. E. Kathia Verdier, Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, met with Marc Justin, the new Director of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ).

This meeting aimed to strengthen the partnership between the MHAVE and the DCPJ in order to continue providing solutions to one of the biggest problems faced by compatriots living abroad.

The issue of criminal records, which remains a major problem, was discussed during this working meeting. Last week, the head of the Embassy in Chile was forced to call the police to arrest several racketeers who were creating fake criminal records.

Marc Justin committed to strengthening the institution's staff to enable more efficient service delivery. A space will be dedicated specifically to receiving applications from the diaspora in order to process them more quickly.

The leaders of both institutions committed to meeting more frequently to evaluate the service provided and the process, and to continue reducing processing times and making further improvements.
