iciHaiti - Montrouis : Bloody shooting in Délugé
On the night of August 29-30, 2025, in Délugé, in the first communal section of Montrouis, a patrol of two Haitian National Police (PNH) pickup trucks, informed that a group of bandits was spreading terror on the RN1, arrived in the area, was targeted after attempting to stop a suspicious vehicle that opened fire on law enforcement officers, who immediately responded.

One of the two PNH pickup trucks, hit by a bullet, overturned, injuring three of the four police officers inside. They nevertheless managed to escape to safety before the bandits set fire to their pickup truck.

A woman, hit by two bullets, was taken to Saint-Nicolas Hospital in Saint-Marc; unfortunately, she did not survive her injuries.

During the exchange of fire, which lasted nearly two hours due to reinforcements arriving to support the bandits, several criminals were fatally injured. Considered one of the leaders of Délugé's gang, "Faoustro" as he was known, who was in the suspect car, was seriously injured and in critical condition, according to information from the Saint-Marc Police Station Investigation Department. A total of nine injuries (excluding criminals) were reported, including six bystanders and the three police officers from the wrecked pickup truck. Several cars were damaged during the clashes.
