The Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) advises users of money transfer and mobile payment services, as well as the general public, that advertisements appearing on various platforms encourage customers to conduct transactions with unauthorized operators.

The BRH reminds customers that the exercise of these activities requires prior authorization from the Central Bank. Only authorized banks, money transfer houses, and Electronic Payment Service Providers (FSPs) (divisions of mobile phone companies, technology companies, or deposit-taking financial institutions) may engage in transfer activities and electronic payment services.

Any advertising and/or offer of money transfer or electronic payment services by an entity not included on this list is illegal.

Consequently, the BRH urges the public not to take the risk of conducting money transfer or electronic payment transactions (account opening, deposits, money transfers, etc.) through an entity whose name does not appear on the list of authorized money transfer houses or FSPs published on its official website.
