On Thursday, September 18, 2025, the Haitian National Police (HNP), through the Coast Guard, recovered two cargo boats stolen the previous day by armed individuals in the commune of Léogâne.

On September 17, 2025, two cargo boats were docked at the port of Léogâne, waiting for daybreak, when a group of armed individuals burst in and seized the boats.

Alerted to the situation, two Coast Guard patrols quickly arrived at the scene at dawn on Thursday, September 18, to hunt down the pirates.

Thanks to this rapid and coordinated response by law enforcement, the two boats were recovered and secured by the HNP Coast Guard unit.
