iciHaiti - Traffic Notice.: Measures taken for the start of the school year

Divisional Commissioner Jean Michelet Shoute, Director of the Traffic and Highway Police Department (DCPR), informs the general public of the measures taken for the start of the school year to facilitate free movement on public roads.

• Heavy goods vehicles are prohibited from driving between 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. in the following areas: Delmas Highway, Bourdon Highway, Pétion-ville, and Kenscoff Road.

• Any vehicle immobilized or abandoned on public roads for several hours will be towed.

• The DCPR, through its inspection service, will be present on major highways to inspect vehicles that do not meet the conditions for public use.

• Any individual using a portion of a public road as a garage will be penalized in accordance with Article 4 of the Decree of May 26, 2006, and the vehicle undergoing repairs will be towed.

In the public interest, the DCPR relies on everyone's understanding for the full and complete implementation of these measures.
