iciHaiti - Limbé : Positive impacts of a sustainable development project
During a visit to Limbe, in the heart of Haiti's North watershed, French Ambassador Antoine Michon witnessed the impact of the project led by the French NGO Agrisud International with the support of the French Development Agency (AFD).

This Sustainable Development Project supports more than 550 family farms and 22 para-agricultural service units (agro-processing of cassava, rice, corn, peanuts, cocoa, etc...), strengthening the agro-ecological transition and the structuring of local value chains (pineapple, ginger, rice, leeks, peanuts).

The Ambassador spoke with the project's beneficiaries, who highlighted the following results :

- Improved productivity and income for rural families, transforming their daily lives;
- Strengthening of the 16 grassroots community organizations that manage the agricultural product processing and agricultural service units on a daily basis;
- Providing drinking water through community-managed supply systems;
- Protecting the environment through erosion control measures on over 200 hectares restored through agroforestry practices;
- Raising awareness of sustainable development issues among over 1,500 people, including 900 young people.
