iciHaiti - Limbé : Positive impacts of a sustainable development project 05/10/2025 10:54:50
This Sustainable Development Project supports more than 550 family farms and 22 para-agricultural service units (agro-processing of cassava, rice, corn, peanuts, cocoa, etc...), strengthening the agro-ecological transition and the structuring of local value chains (pineapple, ginger, rice, leeks, peanuts). The Ambassador spoke with the project's beneficiaries, who highlighted the following results : - Improved productivity and income for rural families, transforming their daily lives; - Strengthening of the 16 grassroots community organizations that manage the agricultural product processing and agricultural service units on a daily basis; - Providing drinking water through community-managed supply systems; - Protecting the environment through erosion control measures on over 200 hectares restored through agroforestry practices; - Raising awareness of sustainable development issues among over 1,500 people, including 900 young people.
