The official inauguration ceremony of the Consulate of Haiti in Tijuana took place on Friday, October 17, 2025. This Consulate, located on the border between Mexico and the United States, will provide administrative, legal, and social support to Haitians living in the often difficult conditions of northern Mexico, in the regions of Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, and Sonora.

The ceremony was attended by Christian Toussaint, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Hubert Labbe, Ambassador of Haiti to Mexico; Ronald Merveille, Consul and Chief of Post of the Consulate of Haiti in Tijuana; and representatives of the Mexican Government and the State of Baja California, the Consular Corps accredited to that State, international organizations, and civil society.
