Members of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD), belonging to the 4th Infantry Brigade, intercepted a vehicle at a mobile checkpoint located near the General Benito Monción Fortress, in Mao, Valverde Province.

The vehicle, a gray Kia K5, license plate AA42070, was that of a Haitian citizen identified as Denis Mervil, according to his ID document identifying him as Vice Consul of Haiti. He was accompanied by two Haitian passengers in an irregular migration situation, without documentation.

Given that his alleged position neither authorizes nor qualifies him to travel within the national territory with persons in an irregular migration situation, in accordance with current protocols and laws, the vehicle, its driver, and the two passengers were taken to the headquarters of the ERD's 4th Infantry Brigade for law enforcement purposes.
