iciHaiti - Post-Melissa : Civil Protection mobilized in Port-au-Prince

In the framework of Hurricane Melissa, the Port-au-Prince City Hall's Civil Protection Department, through its Municipal Committee, was fully mobilized to ensure prevention, awareness, and emergency response in the various at-risk areas of the municipality.

Coordinated actions were carried out before, during, and after the storm, including :

• Awareness visits to sites for internally displaced persons;

• Cleanup and tree-trimming operations in several vulnerable neighborhoods;

• Emergency assistance to families affected by the floods;

• First aid provided to people injured during the cleanup operations.

The Port-au-Prince City Hall commends the dedication and professionalism of the agents mobilized in the field and thanks all partners for their support in coordinating the response efforts.

The Municipal Administration reaffirms its commitment to strengthening local capacities for risk and disaster management, with an emphasis on prevention, vigilance, and community solidarity.
