The General Directorate of Immigration (DGM) revealed that it repatriated 310,499 Haitian citizens in irregular migration situations during 5,123 control operations between January and October 2025 (10 months), representing a 72% increase compared to the same period the previous year (180,417).

This figure, described as "historic" by the authorities, reflects the strengthening of the Dominican government's migration strategy, which has resulted in intensified interception operations throughout the country, with the support of citizen security forces.

The DGM explained that its migration policy is based on deterring irregular migration flows, strengthening border controls, and implementing orderly return mechanisms. Furthermore, the DGM stated that the protection of human rights is a priority, with particular attention paid to minors, pregnant women, and vulnerable groups.
