iciHaiti - Environment : Towards a greener Cap-Haitien
In partnership with the City of Cap-Haitien, the European Union, the Spanish and French embassies in Haiti, and with the active participation of engaged young people from Cap-Haitien, a large-scale cleanup operation was carried out on the beach along Boulevard du Cap-Haitien.

This initiative is part of Team Europe's green diplomacy activities and demonstrates a collective commitment to building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Haiti.

Armed with gloves, biodegradable bags, and a strong sense of civic responsibility, volunteers mobilized from the early hours of the morning to collect plastic waste, organic matter, and other debris accumulated in the environment. The event was followed by a roundtable discussion with more than fifty young people, moderated by the Head of the Delegation's Political Section, who presented the European Union's environmental policy.

Protecting the environment is a shared ambition, and each of us has a role to play. For the partners involved, this activity represents not just a one-off action, but a powerful symbol of environmental solidarity. It is part of a shared vision : that of a modern Haiti, respectful of its natural heritage and aware of its role in the fight against pollution.

Beyond collecting waste, this initiative also aimed to raise awareness among the population about the need to reduce plastic use, promote recycling, and adopt more responsible behaviors.
