As part of the rehabilitation of the agricultural machinery storage depot and garage located on the grounds of the Northern Departmental Directorate of Agriculture (DDAN) office in Vertières (Cap-Haitien), the DDAN officially handed over the completed rehabilitation work earlier this week. The facilities had been in a state of advanced disrepair for over 15 years.

This work was carried out within the framework of the Green Transition and Reintegration Project for Deported Migrants, funded by the French Embassy, ​​under the project management of the International Organization for Migration (IOM)/DDAN and the project management of the firm ÉCOTRANS, for the benefit of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The rehabilitation has allowed to restore the garage, including related infrastructure, while also creating more than 10 direct jobs. This initiative reflects the DDAN's commitment not only to supporting farmers in the department's 19 communes but also to transforming agricultural administrative infrastructure.

This activity illustrates the partners' commitment to strengthening institutional capacities, improving working conditions, and promoting sustainable and inclusive reintegration, all in service of agricultural development in the North Department.
