Minister of Justice and Public Security Patrick Pélissier announced the official inauguration, on Monday, December 22, 2025, of two Courts of First Instance (TPI).

One will be located in the city of Ouanaminthe, considered the largest city in the Northeast Department, both demographically and economically. The other will be established in Limbe, one of the municipalities in the North Department.

With these two new Courts of First Instance, the residents of these two large municipalities, as well as those of neighboring towns and villages, will no longer have to travel for long periods to access the public justice system. "This is also a matter of the rule of law," declared Minister Pélissier, emphasizing the importance of local justice, accessible to litigants throughout the country.

In addition to the Minister of Justice, several high-ranking state officials will be present for these two inaugurations, which will take place successively in Ouanaminthe and Limbé on Monday, December 22, 2025.
