iciHaiti - Vallière : Official launch of SAEP construction work

The National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA) held the official launch ceremony last week for the construction and rehabilitation works of the Vallières Drinking Water Supply System (SAEP).

The ceremony took place under the presidency of engineer Théophil Ostinvil, Director General of DINEPA, Engineer Théophil Ostinvil, in the presence of departmental and municipal authorities, representatives of civil society, notables of the municipality, the local population, the North Regional Director, executives of DINEPA and the Regional Office for Drinking Water and Sanitation (OREPA-North). Several personalities honored this event with their presence. Among others Castelle Latorture, Mayor of Vallières; Jodanier Charles, Vice-Delegate of the Vallières/Mombin-Crochu district; Réginald Claveaux, UNICEF Representative; Pierre Bernadin Poisson, Northern Regional Director of DINEPA; and Father Lumanes Pierre, Parish Priest of Saint-Vincent...

DINEPA would like to emphasize that the execution of this construction work on the distribution network will allow residents of the areas concerned, until now deprived of regular access to drinking water, to benefit sustainably from this essential service.

It should be noted that this launch follows, in part, the signing of a contract between DINEPA and UNICEF for the implementation of the project entitled : "Support Project for OREPAs for the Carrying Out of Activities in Rural and Peri-Urban Areas linked to the PAP 3 and Grand-North Programs". Project financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), through support granted to the Haitian State for the benefit of DINEPA.
