On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the Northwest Departmental Police Directorate arrested two individuals, Fedner Meronne (34 years old) and Wilben Altenor (36), following a search of a house in Port-de-Paix (Northwest Department), which had been reported for suspicious activity.

The Haitian National Police (PNH) seized two firearms: a 12-gauge shotgun and an M4 assault rifle chambered in 5.56×45 mm with a double magazine.

They also found a bag filled with ammunition, including : 104 rounds of 12-gauge shotgun shells, 39 rounds of 5.56 caliber shells, 2 rounds of .32 caliber shells, and 4 rounds of 2.65 caliber shells. The homeowner was not present at the scene.

The PNH is currently searching for the homeowner to answer investigators' questions.
