On Sunday, February 1st, 2026, during a police operation conducted by the Haitian National Police (PNH) in the commune of Croix-des-Bouquets, three terrorists were fatally wounded in a confrontation with law enforcement. Two assault rifles were seized : an AK-47 (7.62×39 mm caliber) and a German HK G3 (7.62×51 NATO caliber), a high-precision rifle with an effective range of 400 to 600 meters.

This operation is part of the PNH's ongoing efforts to neutralize armed groups and restore public order in the area. The individuals involved were actively engaged in criminal acts that endangered public safety.

The PNH calls on the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement by sharing any useful information.
