iciHaïti - Port-de-Paix : Update on the condition of the Three Rivers Bridge
Concerned by misinformation circulating in the media regarding the Three Rivers Bridge in Port-de-Paix, the Ministry of Public Works (MTPTC) deems it necessary to provide clarification and reassure users.

The structural stability of the Three Rivers Bridge is not compromised. Recent inspections confirm that the superstructure, particularly the load-bearing structure including the abutments and piers, is in good condition. While the protective structure shows some localized deterioration, this does not affect the overall integrity of the bridge. Furthermore, a comprehensive technical study has already been completed to precisely plan the necessary maintenance work.

The delay in starting the work is solely due to administrative requirements. Following an initial unsuccessful call for tenders in May 2025 due to a lack of bidders, the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications (MTPTC) took immediate action and requested authorization from the National Commission for Public Procurement (CNMP) to launch a restricted tendering procedure.

Upon receiving approval from the CNMP, all necessary steps will be taken to begin the work to protect the riverbanks and foundations of the Three Rivers Bridge in Port-de-Paix as soon as possible.

The Government, through the MTPTC, reaffirms its unwavering commitment to guaranteeing the free movement of people and goods, while ensuring the protection and long-term viability of our infrastructure, such as the Three Rivers Bridge.

The Ministry takes this opportunity to urge the public to be cautious regarding information that is often erroneous or manipulated for partisan and political purposes. It is crucial not to confuse technical and administrative realities with disinformation campaigns serving personal interests.
