Haiti - Les Cayes : Emergency landing of a Bolt airline plane

On Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, a twin-engine Piper PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain charter plane, registration N45SR, belonging to Bolt Airlines, flying between Port-au-Prince and Les Cayes, with six people on board (five passengers plus the pilot), made an emergency landing in the locality of Démion, in Fonfrède, south of Les Cayes, for reasons that are currently unknown.

In a statement released a few hours after the incident, Bolt Airlines clarified, “[...] We wish to reassure the public that all passengers and crew members are safe and sound, and that no injuries have been reported. The evacuation proceeded safely."

Upon being informed of the incident, the National Civil Aviation Office (OFNAC), through its Director General Reginald Guignard, in collaboration with Hero Rescue, immediately dispatched a team of inspectors and technicians to conduct the necessary checks and gather additional information.

With the collaboration of the Haitian National Police (PNH) and the National Airport Authority (AAN), the passengers on board were transported to a hospital for medical attention.

OFNAC wishes to reassure the public that all measures are being taken to monitor the situation, in accordance with applicable air safety standards and regulations. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances of the incident. Further information will be released as soon as the final results of the assessments are available.
