iciHaiti - Gros-Morne : FAES trains 96 beneficiaries for 5 projects
As part of the Program to Strengthen Safety Nets for Vulnerable Populations (HA-J0005), funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) has launched a series of technical training sessions in the commune of Gros-Morne for 96 beneficiaries, including 55 men and 41 women, who will be deployed across five projects.

Under the close supervision of CARE, an organization specializing in community interventions, these training sessions will initially enable participants to complete the concrete paving of 100 linear meters of road in Figaro I and the construction of 120 linear meters of masonry drainage canal in Morne Figaro II. For these two projects, 11 men and 7 women will find employment to improve their incomes in Figaro I, while in Figaro II, 13 men and 9 women will be employed.

In a second phase, trainees will be deployed to the Campêche 1 and 2 sites to construct 160 m³ of gabions at Ravine Boulevard and Ravine Grépin. These two projects will employ 13 men and 5 women at Campêche 1 and 11 men and 9 women at Campêche 2, respectively.

Finally, in a third phase, at Carrefour Martin, 18 trainees (7 men and 11 women) will be deployed to rehabilitate 100 linear meters of masonry drainage canal and to construct the Martin intersection using hydraulic concrete.
