iciHaiti - PNH : Training begins for police officer recruits of the 36th class

On Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the National Police Academy (ENP), the Haitian National Police (PNH) held its 36th training session, comprised of 1,200 police officer trainees, including 239 women.

This 36th promotion constitutes the second cohort of the P4000+ program, implemented by the Haitian National Police (PNH). This program aims to train 4,000 new police officers between 2026 and early 2027 and is supported by international partners, including the United States through the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), Canada, and the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH). BINUH's objective is to strengthen the police force's personnel and operational capacity.

Several high-ranking officials attended the start of training for these aspiring officers, including Inspector General Jean Maurest Étienne, Director of Personnel for the Haitian National Police (PNH); Inspector General Frantz Lerebours, Training Coordinator; Divisional Commissioner John Games Olivier, Director of the National Police Academy (ENP); and representatives from partner institutions.

It is important to note that instructors, monitors, medical personnel, and all other entities involved in the process are already working at the National Police Academy (ENP) to ensure the smooth progress of the aspiring officers' training until their graduation.
