iciHaiti - PNH : New operations to clear roads and dismantle gangs

Determined to eradicate gang strongholds and clear roads blocked by armed bandits, Vladimir Paraison, the Acting Commander-in-Chief of the Haitian National Police (PNH), announced new offensives dubbed Operasyon San Kanpe during a command meeting held this week. The Departmental Directors of the West (DDO-1 and DDO-2), heads of specialized units, Commissioners and Inspectors of the West Region, members of the PNH High Command, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Gang Supression Force (GSF), Inspector General Godfrey Otunge, participated in this meeting.

Commander Paraison took the opportunity to assess ongoing operations and highlight the significant progress made thanks to police interventions in several sensitive areas, notably Croix-des-Bouquets, Tabarre, Arcahaie, and downtown Port-au-Prince. He also commended the police personnel deployed in the field.

During this meeting, he emphasized the operations dubbed "San Kanpe" which aim to definitively dismantle gangs, clear national highways, and restore state authority. To this end, firm instructions were issued to the various officials involved to do everything possible to achieve the desired results.

For his part, GSF Commander General Godfrey Otunge reaffirmed his troops' commitment to supporting Haitian law enforcement in their fight against terrorist gangs.
